June Lahm

June describes her art making process as “painting with pixels”. She is a photographer who has embraced digital technology. Studying design at East Sydney Technical College led to a decades-long career in gallery management in London and Sydney.

Her photography is inspired by the natural environment of Scotland Island, her home since 1976, and often focuses on the reflection and play of light on water. She is also a frequent traveller to Italy and beyond.

Living near the sea is an essential element of her life. The colourful nets of fishermen, shapes and patina of old keyholes and ancient door knockers, or the patterns created by reflections of light and shadow on water are captured in her varied photographs.

All her images are limited editions and printed with pigment inks on specialist fine art archival papers. June’s work has been featured in galleries around Sydney, and in magazines and books.
