Michelle Seidman

Michelle’s collages explore the beauty and diversity of the natural world. She’s currently creating a variety of monoprints to use in collages with acrylic paints and inks on gel plates. Using foliage, grasses and found items, together with her own cut stencils and stamps, Michelle creates unique marks on paper.

Since childhood, Michelle has made art informally. Ten years ago, after running a diversional art program at a residential seniors’ home, she reignited her passion for making and began taking online art courses, experimenting with different media.

Visiting Scotland Island four years ago was love at first sight and moving here was one of the best decisions of her life. Michelle is inspired by nature’s patterns and colours, shifting light and shadow. Developing the confidence to experiment with her art without judging herself gives her creative liberation and joy.
