Prudence Colville

Pru is drawn to the ever-changing light in the clouds and sky and the way it transforms a landscape. Whether looking across the waters of Pittwater or out over the open countryside, she enjoys exploring the shifts of light, shadow and colour in her oil painting.

Pru’s artist practice is rooted in her love of representational and abstract painting, rather than realism. She doesn’t attempt to create a photographic image but rather something that reflects her pleasure and fascination with the natural world around her and its transient existence.

She paints purely for the joy of her own creative expression and experimentation with oils, rather than with any intention of selling her work or developing a professional practice.
